Unique therapeutic meetings in the pediatric department with animals
 In the context of providing educational services to the hospitalized children, the educational center "Shaked school", which works beside the Barzilai Medical Center, brought therapeutic dogs from the therapeutic kennel to provide physical and emotional response. The therapeutic kennel treatment is based on several interactive meetings with dogs in order to improve the physical and emotional feeling of the hospitalized child.
 
 
 
      

 

In a very sensitive and considerate way, the dogs allow the hospitalized children to fondle them, to play with them and most important they contribute for a rise of a real smile on their faces during a crisis event and their stay in the hospital. The positive and immediate effect on the hospitalized children help them to cooperate with the staff during painful and stressful procedures in the different departments: the pediatric department, the emergency department and the surgical day care.
