The Heart Rehabilitation Institute at Barzilai Medical Center integrates nature and health

On Friday 08/05/2011 the program's participants, their spouses, Prof. Amos Katz Head of the Cardiology Complex and spouse, Dr. Boris Brodkin manager of Heart Rehabilitation, Mr. Yossi Blaer clinical supervisor and Mrs. Orit Peleg heart rehabilitation nurse, all gathered together for physical training on Ashkelon beach. The activity was conducted by a fitness trainer and a rehabilitation physiologist and included a walk along the shore and muscle exercises with dumbbells and training rubber bands.
The outdoor physical activity on the beach, the evening meetings of social bonding and professional lectures, they all ad to the regular program of heart rehabilitation that also includes two meetings a week in the gym.
In view of the successful rehabilitation program and the large demand, the regular activity was broadened to the afternoon and evening hours.
