Three of Barzilai physicians in the list of best chosen physicians

The Israeli newspaper "Ma'ariv" publishes an annual magazine called "The Best" with a list of physicians that, according to its editors, are considered to be the best in their fields in Israel.  This year the editors chose three physicians of the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon.

Dr. Boris Yoffe 

Dr. Boris Yoffe, the Head of the Department of General and Vascular Surgery was chosen for the fourth sequential time as one of the best vascular surgeons in Israel, together with other physicians, most of them from big medical centers. Dr. Yoffe develops new methods and techniques for percutaneous treatment of vascular diseases. 

Prof. Gil Lugassi 

Prof. Gil Lugassi, the Head of the Department of Hematology and the Barzilai Blood Bank at the Barzilai Medical Center,and Chairman of the Israeli Hematology and Transfusion Association, was chosen as one of the top ten hematologists in Israel, together with nine senior physicians, all of them from big medical centers. Prof. Lugassi, a worldwide known investigator and scientist, published so far three international books on blood coagulation and is well known all over the world in the field of 

                              Hematology.  

Prof. Oded Nahlieli 

Prof. Oded Nahlieli, the Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Unit was chosen as one of the top ten in this field along with others, most of them from big medical centers in Israel. Prof. Nahlieli was the first to perform endoscopy of the salivary glands in Israel and all over the world. He has been teaching and lecturing on this method in many countries outside Israel. 

The management of the Barzilai Medical Center is highly proud of the achievements of its chosen physicians and will do its best efforts so that other physicians will be added to this distinguished list.
