Vision of the orthopedic department

The orthopedic department at the Barzilai medical center provides immediate care for all types of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system and presents most advanced therapies to improve the quality of life.

The orthopedic staff provides services in many specialties: joint replacement, surgery of the vertebral column, surgery of the ankle and foot, hand and shoulder surgery, traumatic and sport injuries and orthopedic oncology. Most of the senior physicians had their training in leading departments inside and outside Israel. They are well acquainted with the most sophisticated methods of treatments and the use of the robotic systems.

Coordination between the staff of the nurses, physicians, social workers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists is important for the complete recovery of the patients.

The director of the department and the senior staff are making great efforts in educating the younger generation of doctors and this is the reason why the department is one of the leading departments in educating the new generation and is a role model for many orthopedic departments in Israel.

The medical staff is also involved in many clinical and laboratory research and many of the senior physicians have already a great resume of publications.
